Hi, my husband and I want to move to the coast in the UK, we currently live in Leicestershire. We have a daughter with very complex learning difficulties. She’s an adult. We want to research locations that have good provision for adult daycare and respite services, are there any resources or database where we can find this information? We don’t want to find a place we like to find her needs won’t be met.

hi AutumnTree1973 i have mild learning disability, classic autism, epilepsy etc and i only know of a database for anyone who either-also has some form of autism, or just has some form of autism.which is fine for parents or learning disabled people who have autism but a lot of people dont.

i hope you manage to find one now but i started building a website for everyone involved in learning disability in the UK about 2 years ago and a database of services has been a plan of mine,as up to now ive only been able to go on my own experiences in manchester threw two borouhgs.

one of the sections ive wanted to make is how good different CLDTs are for waiting lists for social workers, how good their specialists are etc. it woud be very helpful for people moving acros boroughs. i also wanted to have a section for learning disability asesment and treatment hospitals and stores selling specialist equipment that may be needed-for example crelling harnesses.

im about to start remodeling my website better. as a gamer i also was reviewing games in how acesible they are for people with all levels of learning disability.

hi . My son is 24 with profound multiple learning disabilities. We live in Lowestoft in Suffolk. He attends a day centre every weekday at the Lowestoft community hub. It is run by Leading Lives, which is an employee owned charity. They also have a respite centre and do supported living too. They have a website, so you can look them up and see what you think. I hope this is helpful and you find somewhere suitable for your daughter.

I’m pretty sure there isn’t one for the public. Social services will have something though.

I don't know anything about them but County Care has services in Skegness. Not sure if I'm allowed to post a link, but here goes ... countycare.co.uk/community-...
