Can’t find a school for my daughter

Hi there

My 14-year-old daughter recently got diagnosed with autism in June and is going into year 10. She is currently on roll at a mainstream secondary school but was struggling to attend because of major anxiety issues. She is doing online lessons one hour a day but wants to return to in-person school to complete GCSEs and make new friends. We have only just completed her ECHP but have had to put her school down as the one she is currently at.

We have been looking for schools around the Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, and Essex area but most schools have no vacancies or are not appropriate.

If anyone knows of any schools that may be appropriate for my daughter’s situation please let me know.

Also if anyone has been in a similar situation and has advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Hi Sarah. I am new to this forum, just joined as my 11 year old daughter is struggling and the possibility of autism has just been raised so doing some research. The school she is at is fantastic, it’s School21 in Stratford, and they have another school called School360 which has just opened. These are mainstream schools though so not sure if that is what you are looking for. Best of luck and do get in touch if you want to chat. I live on the Essex/London border
