My name is Dr. Jillian Powell. I'm a researcher at the University of Bristol. I'm looking for 30 family carers aged 40 or over, who support an adult with a learning disability in the family home, to take part in a research project. The project is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research, School of Social Care Research (NIHR SSCR) and aims to identify unmet support needs within families support networks. Identifying gaps in support need will highlight support needs that, if not addressed, could escalate. This will enable social care providers to better plan more timely support for families. Taking part is confidential and will not affect the support your already receive.
If you would like to take part or require further information, please get in touch with me via Jill.Powell@bristol.ac.uk.
I look forward to hearing from you.

I thought lots of people on here might jump at the chance of this as it’s been addressed a lot especially with Covid. Then again I understand the slow uptake as it’s another survey where generally nothing changes and you never hear the results of the survey and feel like you’ve wasted your time yet again. Sorry to be so negative had a lifetime of it.
Hi Jill - think I fit your criteria for a family with an autistic adult that lives around the corner but they are still feeling responsible for even though she is 38.. Email for further information.
Hi Jill, I think I would fit the criteria. I am a 42 year old carer to my son who is 22 years old, still living at home with diagnosis of Autism, Dyspraxia and Moderate learning difficulties.
Don't really get any help or have any outsider involvement now he is no longer in education and to be honest, have never really had any since his diagnosis when he was young (apart from an amazing Head of Learning Support at his secondary school who always went over and above to help us) have always had to find out everything myself and always pretty much manage, so I don't know how much help my participation would be but would be happy to take part.
