Hello

Today is the start of Anti-Bullying Week. Whether you are being bullied or caring for someone who is being bullied, it’s important to know that you’re not alone, and there is support available.

Often it takes more than one person to end the bullying, so don’t think you have to go through all this on your own.

This is the main page about bullying on Mencap's website mencap.org.uk/advice-and-su...

You can also find out about:

>> Cyber bulling - mencap.org.uk/advice-and-su...

>> More about what counts as bullying and the different ways people can be bullied - mencap.org.uk/advice-and-su...

>> Where to find support - mencap.org.uk/advice-and-su...

>> The new tool for parents and carers on the Anti-Bullying Alliance website - anti-bullyingalliance.org.u...

You can also hear from Vicky. Vicky lives in Mencap’s supported living. For Anti-Bullying Week, Vicky shares her experience of cyber bullying and the importance of reaching out for help - mencap.org.uk/blog/anti-bul...

Richard also made a great video last year about how the R-word makes him feel.

Bullying is a big issue for so many people with learning disabilities. I think the only long term way to address it is to make sure people with learning disabilities are fully part of society. In school, in work, in the media etc. This video is great too. So brave to speak out.

Siblings of disabled children might also experience bullying. Check out our information for young siblings which might help brothers and sisters know they are not alone.
