Hello

We featured the SIBs survey about life in lockdown for siblilngs - and here are the results

874 people completed the survey and the highlights are:

> 75% say that their sibling child’s mental health has worsened in lockdown

> 50% of siblings are providing more care

> 1 in 3 siblings are feeling isolated and missing the support of family and friends.

Full report is here: sibs.org.uk/supporting-youn...

Many thanks

Sarah

Thanks for the update Sarah.

That makes for rather sad reading. Let's hope the government start doing a better job of managing the situation and improve information sharing. I am sure their haphazard approach has lead to people feeling uncertain and less reassured which can only increase mental health problems.

I have everything crossed for an improvement very soon.

Hello again

There is another report out this week from the Disabled Children's Partnership - disabledchildrenspartnershi...

It says that in 76% of cases, the vital care and support they relied on had stopped altogether, leaving parents and young siblings taking on all care responsibilities around the clock.

Shocking reading.

Let me know your thoughts

Cheers

Sarah
