Hello there
It's lovely to see so many new people joining this community.
Please don't be shy. It would be great to hear a little bit more about you. It doesn't need to be long - just a quick 'hello'.
Many thanks, Sarah

Hi everyone, really excited to be taking a look at this new online community and meeting some new people.
Hello um I'm 17 with learning disabilities among others and I got kicked out of college because my anxiety got really bad and now im too scared to go anywhere else because I feel like they won't support me
Hello Sgoust
Welcome. Thank you for sharing how you are feeling.
I am sorry to hear that you aren't at college anymore. Anxiety can make life very hard. Have you talked to your parents about how you feel?
Your doctor would also like to know if you are anxious. Have you talked to them? Anxiety is something they will be used to helping people with.
Keep in touch
Sarah
Hi Sarah and everyone!
Very happy to be part of this new online community, such a great way for people to share their experiences, frustrations and the good stuff too
Hi everyone
I'm Jack's Dad. He's 24 with athetoid cerebral palsy, microcephaly and whole pile of other conditions that mean he is a non-verbal wheelchair user. Despite all this he is a wonderfully sunny-natured young man, always full of fun and smiles. He lives in a wonderful care home in Somerset.
I have received the Family Hub emails for a few years and posted the occasional reply.
I'm Jack's Deputy for both Health and Personal Welfare, and Finance and Property. I applied to the Court of Protection myself and didn't use a solicitor.
I do have several close friends who also know Jack well, to whom I can turn to for advice when stuff crops up.
Hello JacksDad
I'm so glad you have made the move from FamilyHub to this new community
Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself. It sounds like you might be the person to ask about deputyship - it is something that comes up ever such a lot.
It's great to hear that you have a good support network. We'd love you to share any good advice on here when something springs to mind.
Again, many thanks for posting.
Sarah
Hello, 👋🏻 I’ve just transferred from FamilyHub. It was a little confusing to be honest, but in my defence I’m fairly sleep deprived- I’m sure others can relate! I am the mother of a 15 year old with severe LD and mild ASD. He is home educated so it can be lonely for me. I find online forums very reassuring even if I don’t post much 😊. I look forward to meeting other members
Welcome Thomas-the-Tank
What a brilliant name you've chosen. I hope you get used to the new community but feel free to message me if there is anything I can help with.
It is lovely to have you here
Thanks
Sarah
I'm Frances, and my brother has severe learning disabilities. We're in our 30s. I used the family hub and it was great to meet other people especially other siblings. Hello everyone!
Hello! I'm Victoria from the Campaigns and Activism team at Mencap. Delighted to join the new online community!
