I am looking for a laundry liquid that is almost free from everything! Please comment if you know one.

Thanks!

Hi Bixteth, welcome to the mamafit community 😀The eco brands will probably be your best bet, though some are more eco than others! I’ve heard good things about miniml, splosh and method though I haven’t used them myself.

Hopefully some of our other members will have some first hand reviews for you 🤞

Hi Jen, thank you 😊 I have checked the ingredients in Splosh and Method however those brands have harsh chemicals inside. Miniml looks safer, thanks for advising!

No worries! I’ve been trying to make better choices environmentally too, it’s hard sometimes though isn’t it? As brands market themselves as ‘eco’ but when you look closely they aren’t all that different to the mainstream brands 😕

Yeah, absolutely!

Great question Bixteth! Is it to help with a certain condition or purely environmental reasons? Hopefully some of the mums will be able to share what they have used

Hi Rob, I am only looking for something that is free from most chemicals and safe for my baby's sensitive skin. Also it will be good to know I will be doing a little less harm to the planet while doing the laundry.

I look forward for more recommendations 😊

Hi, sorry for being late to the party but have you looked at the Ecoegg? I think they sell it in supermarkets now but you can definitely get them online. They last for ages & are apparently really good at getting clothes clean whilst being super gentle on baby’s delicate skin. (I don’t personally use it but I know someone whose baby has severe eczema & allergies & they swear by it).

Ah brill yep check it out & let me know what you think eco credentials wise. I’ve been thinking of switching for ages but this might be the push I needed to do it!

I have been using Surcare for my our laundry and it has Phosphonates which is okay for us but for the baby it might not be the best option. Ingredients of Egg are plant based mostly but it’s not the perfect one as there are some low toxic chemicals inside. I have never heard about the soap nuts before but it looks amazing, I don’t think if there is anything more natural than that in the market!

Oh yes, good shout Sar! Or soap nuts could be an option, totally natural and can be composted after use if you have a compost heap, I’d totally forgotten about them until you reminded me of ecoeggs, ive thought about trying them but with a mechanic husband and a sweaty teenager I don’t know if they’d be up to the job! Should be fine for baby clothes though
