Faded words

Has anyone experienced slightly faded words when reading on laptop and mobile only. Not at all times and not on books either. Opthalmologist ruled out Macular degeneration but did not really give me an answer.

I know I get it if my specs aren't clean but that obviously affects everything I read. The fact yours just happens with screens and is intermittent - maybe it's a greasy finger mark on your screens? Sorry if you've already thought of that!

Ngatt, I have wet macular degeneration and I see faded words frequently on my laptop, newspapers, and reading paperback books. It really depends on the sharpness, size and darkness of the text. I went to my settings for text and made text larger and darker. It worked well for my laptop. I can't change text on paper copies, but a brighter light helps to reduce the faded look. In some cases, nothing helps. Also, I would highly suggest getting a second opinion from another opthamologist or retinologist. I was misdiagnosed which caused permanent damage to my eye due to the delay in treatment. Maybe you only have early cataracts or some other less serious issue, but it's important to be in charge of your own health.

I have wet macular in my left eye. My good eye I did 3 eye exams and it shows no MD with different opthalmologists.
