I'm Val, I'm 60yrs young and I have lymphoedema in both legs. My swelling is now travelling up into the trunk of my body. I've recently tried a pair of compression boots which made me look like 'Wallace & Gromit in The Wrong Trousers' I found them helpful but discovered that although they did their job moving fluid back up into my body I then had difficulty with breathlessness even though I'd manually cleared my lymph channels myself with 'SLD' *Simple lymphatic drainage' I'm now in a dilemma as to whether to purchase a pair of these expensive boots which cost around £2,000 as I may be swapping one problem for another. With that in mind, I've now prompted an investigation via Palliative Care to test and rule out a blockage such as a clot etc although it's suspected that there will be no clot and just part of the lymphoedema moving into the trunk of my body. What a catch 22!

Hi Valkerry24...when you say compression boots are you talking about a pneumatic pump? What kind of exercise are you doing? Anything aquatic is great for providing optimal compression and moving the fluid in your whole body...swimming, aquajogging, aqua fitness, aqua cycling. I can not recommend it highly enough. Let me know.
Hi Val I hope they sort the problem out very soon for you. Hugs
