My only symptoms were a slight night-time cough and wheeze. Nothing else.

Interesting to see that so far a persistent cough and a chest infection seem to be the most common symtoms.

Thanks for taking the poll and for all your comments.

Sinus problems also appear to be common and appear earlier than the coughing and other symptoms

Sorry, would also like to add that the coughing and wheezing, breathing difficulties in my experience appear to be the most memorable and obvious initial symptoms which unfortunately often occur at the more advanced stages of the disease, it would be great if people could try to remember some of their less obvious symptoms or feelings of being unwell prior to those symptoms as this may help to build a profile of the disease at an earlier more treatable stage. I find it interesting that of the 14 answers on here 3 had sinus problems, that on this poll, is just over 21% of these answers.

Had x-ray because my platlet level dropped compared to an earlier test.

I was being treated for arterial peripheral disease.

x-ray showed abnormal and i was sent for a ct scan.

Couple months later had a lobectomy in 2004.

In 2007 treated for lymph node cancer ct scan this October shows NED

I had an odd pattern of vomiting at night. My doctor ordered an upper GI series, which included a chest x-ray, or "scout" film. It showed a shadow in my right upper lung.

I had a persistant cough along with a bad cold. I went to Dr. and was diagnosed with walking pneumonia. He ordered a chest xray and that's when a mass of some kind appeared in my right lung.

I use to get out of breathe going to rush for the tram and walking up slopes and I would get pain in my throat as if it was angina which was what my mother had so I went to see my doctor, thinking it was angina. I went to see my Doctor three times before she let me have a second opinion. The cardiologist said my heart was ok but they had spotted some shadows on my left lung and then I was referred to a chest physician and thats where my journey began with lung cancer.

Annoying lump in throat that would come and go. No sore throat or any pain. Developed into burning sensation going down gullet and upper intestinal tract. Thought it might be acid reflux. But recently diagnosed Adenocarcinoma of the lung stage T2b N2 M1a and re classified stage 4. No one has explained why.
