The end of a year and the beginning of a new one brings with it periods of reflection.

Many will not understand because they’ve not stood where we are. They’ve not had to confront their own mortality in so close a manner. But knowing that time is precious and shouldn’t be squandered we meet here to share pieces of our days, our lives, our fears and our treatment. The time spent here with you is precious to me.

I send hope that the new year brings you many gifts of love, tons of little surprises and delight, fellowship and friendship.

You are so sweet. I’ve made it a point to learn as much as I can in part because I got mad. In the 43 years between my dad’s death from lung cancer and my diagnosis it seemed like nothing had changed. I remember the devastation my mom’s lung cancer diagnosis caused just 5 years before mine I work to bring hope and healing. I am often rewarded.

Thank you to Denzie and everyone here. I’ve experienced many “silver linings” since my diagnosis. I’m thankful for the lessons learned and each blessing, every day, no matter how small.
