Very interesting. I have to put a mask on at work whenever I move out of my desk's 2m bubble. That can mean to get to the waste bin 3m away, or upstairs to the bathroom, or right through the building to the front door and back. I can tell that I change my breathing when the mask is on, but I haven't found a way of stopping that happening. I think I hypoventilate because I gasp for air when I take it off.

I think my main problem is that when the bottoms of my lungs stopped functioning during the Covid-like symptoms, I was using belly breathing to push the air out, because I couldn't do it any other way. Those muscles are the same abdominals that I use to walk, drive, and keep myself on the stupid work chair. My body has got so confused. I get breathless changing gear for goodness sake.

But awareness is half the battle, right? I'll keep working on it. 5 months of bad habit is a long time of conditioning to change back.

Thanks for sharing. I'll bookmark it. 👍

How re you feeling now?

It is hard to get used to, I also work with masks all day long. It took a while to learn how to breathe normal, but now it is like second nature for me. My glasses don’t even fog up anymore! But breathing is a skill. The mask is very warm. It is just a natural choice reaction we have to having something on our face. The same amount of oxygen is there, it just doesn’t feel like it.

I am feeling better. Still not controlled, but it isn’t enough for me to feel alarmed. I just don’t want to do extra or exercise these days. I have a bad allergy to grass and have to mow the lawn tomorrow, so for the next few days I will be wheezing like crazy. Last time for it though! After tomorrow, we are in our Fall season, then Winter. Not going to miss doing the lawn at all! 😊

I’m glad you’re feeling better over all, and very thankful that this is the last cut of the year. Is there any chance of finding someone to do it for you next year?

I am thinking I may have to do that next year. It just takes me so long to get back to feeling normal again. And by that time, I have to cut it again! lol Where I live, there is a city bi-law where the grass can’t be left to grow a certain height. You have to keep it up or get a fine. And I live in a duplex, so when my neighbour cuts, I have too, otherwise it looks so bad! So today is the last day of the season! Going to cut, then put away the mower for the winter. Yay!!

Can you pay your neighbour to cut yours too maybe?
