All medication comes with side-effects & steroids, which form the basis of most asthma prevention treatment, do cause an array of troubles elsewhere.

I'm not so sure about eyes, but in order to reduce the risk to my bones, I have something called Adcal-D3 prescribed (that's its UK name) which increases calcium intake significantly to help against osteoporosis.

My eye Dr. recommends against using any medications at all that contain steroids because they tend to increase the chances of cataracts. I am on a daily steroid maintenance inhaler but I believe the benefits outweigh the risks. I hope. I have the barest beginnings of cataracts I was told a few months ago.

I don’t really see a huge problem as far as your eyes go. If you need an ics to keep you breathing properly the you need an ics. Cataracts can be removed, and lots of people who do not take ics get them. An asthma attack can remove you. 😊
