Water based is usually better than oil based (Tho won’t stop issues if paint is a trigger plus is decorating doesn’t always look as nice)
If you’re getting your paint from a store they may be able to tell to the ‘least fumey’ type they stock so worth asking them.

Hi - paint is a notorious trigger for asthma & I've had all sorts of trouble with it. Don't assume either that odourless is any better as all that does is stop you being able to smell the fumes that the paint is giving off.
I've found one or two brands that seem less problematic to me personally (Valspar is one) but I still struggle & never do any painting myself, plus try to get out of the house if someone else is doing it.
It may just be one of those things, otherwise just trial & error, but be careful.
I have had good experience with low voc paints. I don't remember the brand though.
There's a program called the Asthma & Allergy Friendly certification program, which tests products around the world to see which cause the fewest problems for people like us. It's the only certification program of its kind.
There are three brands they certify (but I don't know where they are available): True Value Easy Care, Benjamin Moore Natura Premium Interior, and Samhwa Classy ATO Free paints.
