Buteyko breathing method
Butyeko breathing was a technique developed by Australian asthma researchers and seems to work. I prefer to just do a meditation recording to breathe easy.
satousman, Thank you for your reply. I do practice relaxation breathing, though I haven't used music during meditative relaxation. Sounds ( no pun intended) like a good idea.
I was searching for ways to help improve my airways, and found Buteyko method. I was a bit concerned about holding breath. I understand the logic of proper exchange of gases, just sceptical about all the claims.
I do not think that the claims that that specific type of breathing technique versus other really helps people with asthma. I think that almost any type of meditative approach can be useful. Just my opinion.
I agree. I am quickly learning that the "one size fits all" doesn't apply to asthma. Relaxation has helped me through several episodes that may have led to another trip to ER.
Take care,
Mary
Hi
I am following Buteyko breathing and this has made a difference in my asthma. I am presently taking Pulmicort (generic) 3 puffs daily and levosalbuteral when needed. During bad times, I will take prednisone 10 mgm for 3 days and it knocks it out. Sometim I take Zyrtec before bedtime. Also use cannabinoid hemp oil. Buteyko is shallow controlled breathing and relaxation. It takes motivation and some discipline to practice this every day. I really trust Patrick McKeown. Look it up buteykoclinic.com
How do you use the hemp oil. Do you put it in a nebulizer. I have read online that it helps asthma.
Hi I just take a quarter dropper full before I go to sleep. My asthma is better don't know why?
Whet do you get your hemp oil? Do you need a medical card?
Hi Mary, I don't know but my asthma which was awful is just about gone although I still take butysonide (Pulmicort) spray 2 times a day and hemp oil.
