hi, I'm 27 and have relatively mild cp, at that age I became a lot tighter, despite the amount of surgery I'd had in previous years. My doctor and physio put it down to a growth spurt and I had botox in certain muscles and a lot more physio to help lengthen my muscles to keep up with bone growth. This really helped my situation, and also helped me see how important physio and my stretching regime was and still is!
Hi, I'm 58 and have mild cp. I'm sorry to read about your problem at 15.
Although cp is described as a 'one-off event' early in life, my experience is that it can get worse with age. I echo the reply from "niceboots", it is important to use stretching exercises and physio to maintain flexibility and balance. (Tedious, but important)
Well thanks for reply's.My son well see a Physiotherapy on Thursday Oct 2 ..I am leaving things up to them to see what can be done.I also talk to another one of the Physiotherapy doctors who is trying to get a him in a group with kids his age to help him deal with changes..Which I know with me with no transportation not sure if he well get to half of them or even if he well go..I am a mom who refuses to argue with my son.He is a young man who refuses to get help sometimes which that is my fault too...I am just hoping he realizes it is something he must do to make his left side stronger..I really enjoy being able to come to this group and learning more about Cerebral Palsy..
