Hello Members! :)

Avril Lavigne recently returned to her music career after her battle with Lyme Disease and has publicly spoken out that she almost died and at first medics disbelieved her.

She said: "Part of me doesn't want to talk about being sick because I want it to all be behind me, but I know I have to.

Because not only is it a part of my life, I need to bring awareness to the severity of Lyme Disease. A single bug bite can f*** you up hard. People aren't aware that Lyme must be treated almost immediately. Often if they are aware, they go untreated simply because they can't get a Lyme diagnosis! And even when they do get a diagnosis, a lot of times they simply can't afford the treatment."

Finally someone high profile is highlighting this illness and the problems people with Lyme Disease face. She was lucky to have the money to fund treatment but hundreds of thousands aren't in this position.

Please help people living with Lyme by signing petitions as it only takes one tick bite which you may not even know has happened and you or family can catch Lyme Disease. We need more research, updated protocols, accurate testing, education and public awareness to try to stop this illness ruining lives and to aim to stop it increasing as a worldwide pandemic.

There are so many gofundme pages for people trying to fund private testing and treatment as their lives depend on it. This is awful, distressing for them and family members and in 2018 this should not be happening.

Keep raising awareness and supporting campaigns/protests to bring about change.

Thank You for reading
