Paranoia or early signs?

Hello, I am a 32 year old male, 5'11", 145-150lbs. I have been drinking beer regularly for the last 4 - 5 years. I might have 1 - 2 beers a day, 5 days out of the week. I only have more then that on special occasions. Recently I have had some lower back pain on the left and the past few days some pain on my mid right side, kidney and liver area's. This pain comes and goes.

Here is where the paranoia kicks in. After thinking about the locations of the back pain. I started to think my eyes looked a little yellow, but no one else I ask sees it. the area's around my eyes seam yellowish but I often dont get as much sleep as I should or have allergies.

Also the back pain seams likely to just be back pain since I sit in my car nearly 3 hours a day and at a desk 8+ hours while at work. It really only feels like muscle pain.

My brain is also trying to link digestive issues to this but that's easily just my inconstant diet. perhaps the beer acting directly on the digestive system and not a liver or gallbladder issue.

How prevalent should symptoms be or what symptoms are most concerning regarding potential liver or kidney issues?

Other things to note: when I poke under my right rib cage I dont feel any kind of pain. I am able to eat normal. I have never had any medical issues other then common cold and flu.

Hello Arcknight, the overwhelming feeling I get from reading your post is of somebody struggling with anxiety for want of a proper diagnosis. I, for one, am not medically qualified to offer this and it would be very wrong of me to try to do so. However, I will say this: if it were me worrying to this extent over the idea that my liver or kidneys were becoming dis-eased, my very first step would be to make an appointment with my GP (your usual MD, if you are from USA) and put these concerns to him /her. This would result in more than unhelpful guesswork from well-meaning but under-qualified people which, in turn, could exacerbate existing fears, making matters worse. My other advice is to stay away from looking up 'symptoms' online. Once started, it can get quite addictive and, unless you have a medical degree and/or training, could have you thinking you may be coming down with a more 'serious illness' each time you look, giving yourself a lot more mental stress along the way! Make that appointment and stop this suffering now, my friend. With all good luck and my best wishes. 🍀🙏💐☕

Hi arcknight ,

I totally agree with bunnyroo ,

Seems to me you are trying to link up different symptoms to make one massive one ! .

It's so very easy to do ; I for one are very similar

I have had cbt therapy for many different reasons; anxiety and thought process etc.. it really has helped, Sony get wrong as I do still have the condition but not as bad.

Please go to your GP ; and tell them exactly what you have just posted. Best wishes.. linda

Drinking 1 or 2 beers a day can add up. A lot depends on your genetics. It sounds possible that your back pain in the kidney area is dehydration related not cirrhosis related. Pick up your water intake and the back pain may fade. If not have a liver function blood panel done. My best guess is that you may have a fatty Liver and that can turn to cirohsis within a couple years. Get checked for a fatty liver and change your diet eating more veggies and either fish or chicken or even pork. No fast food. I am not a Doctor but I believe you may just beginning down to the road or Cirrhosis. Get the tests done and then you will know where you are at self diagnosis is a very poor choice.

I actually just went to the Dr today for a physical since I have not done one in a very long time. The Dr did not seam concerned about my beer drinking at all. He said my abdomen feels normal. I do fall with in the safe weekly amount most of the time. I still have to get blood drawn for tests. I have that setup for Monday.

The various pains I have are most likely just my back. Ill have to sit up better and get some exercise to resolve that.

As suspected, its just paranoia and me over thinking everything.
