Hi everyone this afternoon Leukaemia Care and ACAS are providing an information webinar to inform blood cancer patients of employment rights.

You are welcome to join us free here: us02web.zoom.us/webinar/reg...

Start 3.30pm GMT

If you have been affected by a blood cancer diagnosis, you are protected by law from unfair treatment at work. It is unlawful for an employer to treat you less favourably because you have blood cancer.

Although talking to your employer may be the 1st step to gaining the understanding, support and adjustments you may require, it is not always a straightforward task.

The aim of this webinar is to inform you of your employment rights, what is legally required of an employer and what an employer can consider when supporting you with changes in your circumstance and your needs as a patient or carer. During this session we will seek to answer questions such as:

• Do I have to tell my employer that I have blood cancer?

• Do you have advice on how to talk to my employer about my diagnosis and challenges?

• What are disability rights and am I classified as disabled?

• Do my rights change at different treatment and management stages when living with blood cancer?

• What are my rights as a carer of someone living with a blood cancer?

• What are reasonable adjustments, are there legal requirements my employer should meet?

• Who can help me with talking to my employer and with conflict resolution?

• What support and information is available to me if I am: self-employed, starting a new job or being made redundant?

We will be joined by: Simon Allen, Senior Advisor at ACAS,

This should be a great webinar to help those that may have issues with their employer.

Sometimes the Employer is unaware of the implications of a cancer or leukaemia diagnosis on the whole family.

Tune in if you can.
