Letting people know about your diagnosis can be key to getting the right support or can help others make needed adjustments for you. This can be difficult in reality, either for you or for those close to you.

This webinar will support you by sharing the experience and advice of the panel of patients and the supportive care team.

You can register here: us02web.zoom.us/webinar/reg...

• Do I need to tell people that I have leukaemia?

• What are the benefits of telling people about my diagnosis?

• How do I prepare for potential negative reactions to my diagnosis?

• What may be helpful when talking to:

o Your family, friends and children?

o Your employer and insurers?

o Your child’s/children’s school and your own education provider if in training or study?

o Groups and societies you are involved with such as voluntary organisations, sports teams, clubs and churches etc?

o Anyone providing your healthcare such as your GP, dentist, optician, pharmacist, physiotherapist, complementary therapist and counsellor etc?

The webinar will explore what resources are available from charities and your care team to aid you with this.

Panel:

Jamie Woods acute leukaemia patient

Margaret Miller chronic lymphocytic leukaemia patient

Caroline Kerr, Clinical Nurse Specialist for Leukaemia & MPN at Belfast City Hospital, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust

Catherine Langton, Myeloid Specialist Nurse at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
