Hi all, I have just joined the portal - I am a CML patient arranging a phased return to work imminently, the date is to be confirmed but I have submitted my Fit Note from 1st June, I wondered if anyone else in my position had any useful tips/advise in terms of questions to ask their employer or to consider when returning to work, I left in March 2018 so am nervous but excited at the same time!! Thanks, Meena.

Hi,

I was diagnosed December 2017, I work away from home but on the UK mainland. I took 6 months off, which for me was ok as I still got full pay. On my return in June 2018 I went on phase return starting 2 days a week then 3 and so on.

I finally got to 5 days well I’ll say that again 4.5days half day Friday to travel home, my company were brilliant and still are. If I feel tired I go to my car have a rest, if too tired I go back to my temp lodgings and stay there and come in the next day. I do believe companies are more open to the hidden disabilities and do help were practical, work with them I’m sure they’ll work with you.
