Hi Melza27,
Thanks for your post. I'm sorry to hear that you have received this sad news. One of the most important things in terminal/palliative care is communication. I would advise you to arrange a meeting with your mum's medical team to talk about expectations and care for your mum. Palliative care teams are often very valuable at this time in providing essential medical and emotional support so I would ask to be put in contact with your local palliative care team as well. Although it is not possible to give exact time frames, your mum's team should be able to give you their expectations. Take care.
My mum is moving to the hospice next week sometime all meds apart from Gastro and morphine meds are going to be stopped she’s going to get a top up of blood and platlets before she goes and pic line will be taken out so she can be comfortable without wires and tubes etc they have made it clear its the steroids keeping her alert and awake as she is
Hi, I do not know what to say and I do not even think there is an answer to your question but your mum might want to talk to her medical team, the hospice, if she is in contact with them, or the Mcmillan team.
The last 2 years must have been such a difficult time for you all, I hope you are able to talk honestly together.
