Had a Pet Scan done April last year(2017) which showed uptake in lungs and thyroid. Neither showed cancer but nodules on other tests. But with an MRI of chest/abdomen on May 18th, 2017 they found renal cell cancer. October 5th I had a partial nephrectomy of the left kidney and they genetically tested the tumor and I found out I have the gene for my type of cancer and luckily I was told that the % of coming back is low, but I have to get CTScans yearly.
