Hi i was diagnosed last year, Does anyone get really bad headaches and flushes. I also take hormone tablet so it could be them. X
Hi,
I've had it 18 years, and yes I get hot flushes, but as my Mum says, 'you are at that age dear', so I suppose my flushes are perimenopausal!
I get frequent headaches too, and I was not prone to them before the ITP. And I get over-heated as well, but not in quick flashes. Rather, I'll be hot for three or four hours at a time, and then very chilly. My gynecologist assures me this is not due to the onset of menopause, that if it were, the "hot flash" would be over much more quickly — in minutes rather than hours. I don't know if there's anything to be done.
I,too, get headaches often that last two or three days and have what I suspect could be hot flashes-every day--and I'm well beyond menopause age. I've been on prednisone for about 5 years and have never been in remission. I have had ITP for over six years and have had a splenectomy----which did nothing to help! I do get very fatigued but rest for awhile and keep going. A positive attitude, lots of kale smoothies, papaya, avocado, vitamin B12 w/folate, multi vitamin, vegetables and fruit, moderate exercise, plenty of good sleep-----and now I'm trying 1 tsp of papaya extract in water/papaya juice daily in the a.m. On an empty stomach. Hope this info may be helpful. Patience-22
