My tolerance to cold conditions has in my opinion changed over the last few years, it may be to do with the weight loss I have encountered through treatments and the major lifestyle changes I have made, but personally don't feel that my ITP is influencing how I am affected by the cold.

Hi, I have not had any weight loss to speak of. nor much treatment, but still feel the cold and this has only been since I was diagnosed 8 yrs ago - prior to that I was always hot. My hands go numb too.

I feel much colder since I was diagnosed with ITP. I can't tolerate very hot weather either. My heating bills have certainlygone up since I have had ITP.

funny this poll,my daughter who has itp came in from school, her hands and ams turned blue.this is happening a lot,she complains of the cold and wraps up more than she used too.my other daughter now adult has raynaulds was on nifedipine. anyway switched on laptop after daughter came in complaining and showing me her arms and hands(she is going to see rheumatology due to this and me having a rheumatoligical disease) and saw about cold and itp,so have put yes .

I find the cold is so debilitating. It feels like needles in my skin when it I am out in the cold. It has certainly got a lot worse since having the ITP. I am also intolerant of hot weather and have to stay in the shade.

This is a difficult one to answer in a way for me, as I work in a Freezer warehouse for Unilever Walls Ice cream. I have been an ITP sufferer since I was 2 years old, I will be 21 again lol on 2nd Dec, I dont as a whole find myself feeling the cold more than others all the time. Working in cold conditions help you build a tolerance but I do have the odd days where I feel really cold, I have one day where I cant get warm and then the next day I'm fine. What I will do is next time I do I will make a note of it and see if it coincides with anything i.e my menstrual cycle or something.
