I was diagnosed with type two diabetes in September 2020 I have struggled ever since trying to reduce my weight to handle this condition. I am currently diet-based and I am on no medication and I would like to keep it that way! I’m struggling with weight control! obviously I am anxious that if I don’t succeed I will have to go on some form of medication! I really would like to get a handle on my weight control so I can delay taking any forms of medication for as long as possible.

Hello Rabbit. I won't ask here what kind of food you are eating or if you are calorie counting but have you seen a diabetes nurse? They should be able to help you with dietary advice. Weight gain can be a side effect of untreated diabetes or metabolic disorders that can accompany diabetes.

I would suggest that you try to find some daily constant support with your issue, someone or some people that can support you and your motivation with tips, support and general encouragement. There are one or two "Weight Loss Support" communities on this forum that are active all day, every day with that kind of weight loss support.

I was 13.81 stone 9 weeks ago, and 2 days ago I slipped past the 12.12 stone mark (Weird numbers but I convert from Kgs).

I wish you the best and maybe we will see you a few doors down on the right for some weight loss support.

Hi Rabbit, I would suggest asking your doctor if they can put you on the Xyla nhs diet, it’s brutal by only having shakes 4 times a day for 12 weeks and then slowly being weened back onto food. I have been on this diet for 9 weeks now and lost over 1.5 stones. It’s completely free and all shakes are paid for by the nhs. Good luck
