I'm interested to hear if anyone has less side effects with a particular brand of Tamoxifen. I have been on Wockhardt for a couple of months now and it would appear that my side effects have lessened.

Tamoxifen
There are lots of reports about differing side effects of drugs between brands. Im not sure if its just because I am emersed in cancer drugs particularly, but, Tamoxifen is a drug I hear in relation to this topic lots !
Might it be because this is one of the most common drugs given to one of the commonest cancer types and that this patient group is largely women of a younger age group who notice how their bodies react to what they put in to it ?
When I have asked our pharmacists I am told the most likely cause is not the actual drug but the coating of the drug and any other compound used to stabilise and bind the drug - and these do vary between manufacturers.
I've been on Tamoxifen for a couple of months and just picked up my third prescription and each pack has been a different brand. When you say that your side effects have lessened - to what extent. My treatment and the Tamoxifen has put me into the menopause so all the side effects I have, could just be heightened menopause or caused by the Tamoxifen I'm not sure which. My biggest problem is that I no longer have any temperature control - I am always freezing (except when I have a hot flush) and there is no way I can get warm. Be interested to hear if others have found side effects lessen over time.
Hi, i have just finished 6 rounds of Chemo after a single right Diep flap reconstruction last July for oestrogen feeding ductal carcinoma in situ . it's been a hell of a ride since finding a lump last may, but here i am and ready for the next chapter, which will be Tamoxifen. .. i read the side effects online but i take them with the same pinch of salt as i would take the side effects list for any tablet,, nice to hear it from actual people that take it, what is it likely to do to invade my busy life.. i would say i'm already thrown into menopause by the chemo, because of my constant coat-on coat-off carry on, so i cant blame tamoxifen for that.. i have heard it can cause anxiety and bone pain. interested to see what i might have in store for me for the next 5 years.. thank you.. this is a great site, i have gotten better real hit-the-ground-running advice here, and would recommend people come here before googling their particular problem, as it is a scary internet out there and you mostly get the dramatic worst case scanario and a lot of it exaggerated or untrue...
I hope you are all doing well and fighting the good fight.
