My eyelids are really dry and hurt. I've tried various eye creams but they become inflamed. Does anyone else have this problem?

I have problems with the skin along the lashes becoming inflamed and was told this was blepharitis. The best remedy for that is to get baby shampoo and dilute it and then gently wash the lashes.

I have never, however, had a problem with the whole eyelid. Hopefully someone will come back with more advice. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Could it be hayfever / pollen?

Cheers

Hi Jean

I hoped you would get more replies to this question because I suffer from the same thing. It was just one of the many annoying things that happened to my body before I found out that I had an autoimmune problem and APS. I’ve tried everything but can only use hypoallergenic creams on my face now. I used to wear eye make up every day but now only wear it in special occasions. The only creams that soothe are Vaseline and Egyptian Magic (ingredients: olive oil, beeswax, honey, royal jelly and propolis extract). Vaseline is the cheaper option, but you could buy a cheap sample size of the other off Ebay. I don’t think there’s much difference between them. I’m hoping other people might offer more suggestions! Also –what’s the best mascara to use on sensitive eyelids?

You sound just like me. I can only wear eye makeup once in a blue moon. My eyes swell up and blister, What autoimmune thing is causing this? I'm beginning to wonder if I have Sjogrens.
