Hi , I have been on treatment for ten years , but my condition is complicated by being co-infected with HIV , so treatment is for both . Originally I was on the old Truvada , which has caused loss of kidney function , a very common side effect of that drug . The drug has been improved to eliminate the kidney damaging components , and I'm now on long term treatment with no side effects other than raised cholesterol .
