I had, after 25 years and no success with genotype 2 ribaviran and 5x's with interferon. Last Dec I started Epclusa with Dr. Everson @ UCH. I was viral load free after 3 months. Not checked again. Everson left UCH so I see a new Hepatologist this week. Idk if I'm still virus free. I have cirrhosis, dying pancreas and got a letter stating I have TEN DAYS to find a new Dr as Kaiser Permanente (my PCP of almost 10 years works there) is no longer taking Colorado Medicaid as of JULY 1, 2018. Idk? I'm scared, sick, worried and dying.

Sometimes are feelings and thoughts get in the way of things.Hang in there.when i found out i had hep c i was afraid,i broke down..i thought how could i let this happen? It frustrated me because it took a awhile to get approved for treatment.when one plan denied me i kept looking until finally it got approved.God does hear our prayers and he knows are needs.dont panic call the medicaid line to get the provider lists.there will be someone who can help.when one door closes another will open.i have a young child that depends on me.stay strong and keep supportive friends/family around.much💙

Thank you. I did find out I am still virus free after 7 months of treatment and am considered Hep C free. I still have not heard of anyone taking Epclusa??? Most pharmacists say it's a rarely used Hep C med. Grateful that my Dr. hand picked this for me after 6 fails on interferon and then interferon with ribaviron. My Son flew to CO to help me find a new Dr as I lost my PCP in the Medicaid "shakeup", was assigned to the Medicaid clinic. I thank God for him and his GF! Somehow they found a Dr in the next town from mine!! This Dr took the time to read my chart, knew a ton about my failing health and is amazing! As my pancreas is just a big Ole mess of calcification and atrophy, she reassured me that this war on opiates does not impact me! I thought it was not the right thing to take someone with one of the most painful disorders, chronic pancreatitis, and say "just live with that pain#!? My thinking was right, according to my new PCP! She's not only knowledgeable but workshe with my specialist at the University of Colorado. I lost hope, I forgot to breathe and trust in others and my higher power. Today IS A NEW DAY! Thank you for being nice to me when I was in a dark place. You don't know how much I needed that. Thanks, Tara

I will pray for you. The 25 years of this disease creating havoc on my body is over! My liver labs looks good and my cirrhosis is stable. I've had so many people praying for me. I suffer from panic attacks and I thank God and good people for believing in me when I didn't. I will keep you in my heart and prayers!

Please keep me updated. I'm proud of you!

Yay for completing treatment!!! 👍🏼💐

I’m glad you’re feeling good; try not to let the “what if’s” cause you too much anxiety. I know that can be hard, but you have made it through the toughest part, now it’s just labwork. Here’s my knowledge on what is considered cured, copies and pasted, along with the source:

•Sustained Virologic Response:

The benchmark of Hepatitis C treatment, a sustained virologic response (SVR) is as close as we can get to a cure for this disease. SVR is declared if the person’s viral load is non-detectable six months after administration of the last dose of Hepatitis C medication.
