After taking anti viral medication for two weeks I was given 'no virus detected ' result
But now 5 weeks in I have been given a cancer diagnosis . (Liver)
I have read journals (on this website ) only 3 days ago stating that a sub set of patients develop agressive tumors .
I was not informed of this BEWARE!
It happened to me. Which anti vitals did you take? Were you only treated once? I recall some of your story. Hopefully it will not grow. I had liver tumor 1 year, no growth. Then it began to grow slowly then like wild fire. But it took almost 3 years! Now it's in a second organ. I did read about portal vein cancer. Have they suggested a treatment for you? I was to have radiation beads injected or at least chemo but because of 2nd ct scan of 2nd organ tumors, they called all off and have not said why. Just as well though as I do not feel strong enough to survive those highly toxic chemicals. People here have mind bending decisions to make. I wish you the best.

The drug I was given is called Harvoni which is a combination of 90mg ledipasvir and 400mg sofosbuvir, (once a day ) .
Also Ribavirin Teva 200mg (4 a day ).
I have after reading journals , believe that I wasn't informed of some side effects I. e. aggressive tumors forming during or shortly after treatment.
I appreciate people who are given such a death sentence go through phases. .blame being one but it was this site that first my attention to this was drawn .
Yes first treatment as I was only diagnosed April and my private Dr. recommended that I went to the state health care as the drugs would be cheaper otherwise I would have been treated earlier and we probably wouldn't be having this conversation. ..I have noticed the first question I'm asked when visiting the clinic fortnightly is " how's your breathing " perhaps that's usual progression (certainly with yourself ) I'll let you know if I have an issues lung wise.

What a hard story. Thanks for letting me know about the breathing question. They must know the treatment drugs can cause breathing issues. I recall when I began having them. I would cycle extremely hard and it always helped but now I am not strong enough to cycle. I am not sure if I ever will be again. Fatigue has me totally down. I feel like doing nothing. where is the cancer seated in the Brain and neck or liver as this all affects your prognosis, from what I have studied to date medical studies have not shown extra cancers as a result of Harvoni and such treatment. But your experience is very real and we need to count very clearly on these boards and "see" if we are noting a new danger! The power of your courage and these people based forums is they report real time patient experience of side effects without any pharma or other involvement. I had skin cancer and hcv treatment but felt it not connected to the medications. aggression in tumours and the link to anti virals needs a heads up. we have only just admitted harvoni does boom hbv that has cleared in hcv patients. On the UK helpline we have noted patients with hcv taking harvoni have reactivated cleared HBV. This has led to serious 2000 plus ALTs scores in some as ever open minded ness and scientific inquiry is needed for all side effects#
