Hi Andy,

Best to visit Dr/clinic have blood test done for Hep C markers which will tell you if

you have the virus, have test for HIV too.

When you have results, if you have hep c , good to have fibroscan which will tell if any scarring to your liver and ultrasound test too which gives broader picture of liver health

Hep c is usually from iv drug use, transfusion,

It's a blood borne virus,

In rarer cases from sharing razors/unprotected sex/etc.

All good wishes for your recovery.

Hi Andy.

I am new to this myself.

I got bloods done by my GP. He took bloods on Jan of this year and again 6 months later. When I got the results he made an appointment for me to go to the hospital. Which was on Mon 22ed Aug with nurses that deal with Hepatitis. They took more bloods, explained a few things. I was told to expect the results in 6 weeks time.

That's been my road so far... I hope this helps and good luck mate!
