Hi had the valve replaced three weeks ago yesterday and my taste buds are bad. I love chocolate but not now find it horrible anything I like can't taste. Will this go away .have I got to give it time.

Yup. I experienced similar but after a few weeks got back to normal.

How bizarre! I had this too in hospital - but I also had a swollen tongue where a nerve had been trapped - due to being intubated for 12 hours, following my mitral valve replacement.
I assumed my taste had been affected because of this. Tea tasted horrible. It was several weeks before I could enjoy a proper cuppa again post op. I think also the cocktail of meds I was put on also affected things.
So, in my personal experience, my taste did eventually return, but very gradually - over a period of time.
