Hi all new to this disease as inly had this for just over 2 weeks bolt out the blue when i was diagnosed. Anyway was given betahistine but wanted to try ginko biloba first as pretty anti drug.. the dizzy .imbalance is getting worse so fonna have to try betahistine i guess :( i dont have tinnitus though had a op many yrs ago in left ear to remove tissue that was growing near my brain. Didnt wven know what this was until the doc handed me leaflets last wk and sent me on my way. Surely i need tests ? Anyway i hear if you have this disease i could lose my license 'though it doesnt affect my driving to be honest' on top of all this ive not long started work after a long time unemployed due to xhronic migraine which now is well under control. :( im totally gutted. Feeling extremely fed up and dont know where to turn. Any help advice would be great. Thank you for reading x

Hi so sorry to hear how bad it is for you. I had chronic mugraine for 3 years and was on pip for it as unable to even lower my head move my neck etc. I tried a low carb diet as i was desperate this worked for me. Cut out all processed foods but being on betashistine they came back. Ive now stopped that med and they have gone. The doc is referring me to ENT now but i dont think ive got it as seem ok now and havent gad a spell in 2weeks. I think it was stress! I do simpathy with you though it was very annoying unsettling and depressing left me very tired. I really hope you get some relief soon xx

Thank you for being so patient and understanding. I went for an assessment for employment allowance two yrs ago and because I said to the ignorant person behind the counter that I like to go up and down my garden path when my legs allow me to as ive also go nerve damage in my legs and feet and my face some days, she only went and put down that I like to do my garden so they changed my esa to esa with work capacity but im sorted now as they changed from atos to capita.xx

hi Girlygirly2006

I have ben taking 16mg tabs 3times a day for past 30 yrs ,started on 5mg 50 yrs ago

16mg keeps it well under control ,only very very occasional flare .

Still driving most days no problem

Just need to be careful looking upwards as it can start a slight spin , so No ceiling painting etc

Betahistine Dihydrochloride 16 mg tablets , also seems OK if I miss one or two
