Activation of Hearing Aids?

Further to my previous posting, I have noticed the following. In a 1-to1 conversation, with the other person talking, the aids sometimes seem ineffective. But when I speak the aids "wake up". They stay awake for about a minute and then go quiet.

If I want to wake them up at a lecture I can rub them with my fingers, or even just move my specs against them, and again they can be activated until again they fade.

Listening to the radio (Amazon Echo) the sound is good for about five minutes and then fades.

So altogether I am having a poor experience- despite the close attention of my audiologist.

Any answers please?

It sounds like there is some kind of fault and I would definitely return to audiology to explain and have them checked.
