Hi, I am 35 and just had a complete hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. It was vaginal using Da Vinci. For the most part I feel okay, still tender and bleeding off and on. Its not a full bleeding but still annoying and ranges in color. Dr said I was healing great at my 2 2wk visit and only to worry if I am filling a thick pad within an hour. Anyone else had bleeding issues? I think I over did it yesterday too, the bleeding had stopped for 2 days and then I cleaned house and today bleeding some. Its light but a bit redder.

Yes, I had bleeding for about 4 weeks. You really shouldn’t be doing housework just yet. There is a lot of healing going on on the inside so gentle exercise and rest is still essential. If it doesn’t settle down again, I suggest you ask your GP to check things for you.

Take care, x

Thank you! As of right now no bleeding at all and I have been on rest since yesterday. I called my surgeon several times when it first started and he said to monitor it and if it gets heavy like a period and soaks a pad in an hour to go to ER. Thankfully it hasn't been like that, and I am going to continue to rest the next few weeks and let hubby do the housework haha!!! Will update again if things change.
