I know the reason why people have voted hard boiled, it's easier, let's see how many more votes you get ๐Ÿคฃ

lawli56 in reply to Cb1963

I have an electric egg boiler so it's no more difficult to have them soft or hard boiled and perfect every time. I just prefer them hard boiled so I can eat them as they are for snacks with a bit of salt and black pepper especially when I'm out and about. ๐Ÿ˜„

Soft boiled - breakfast or lunch

Hard boiled for sandwiches or in salads, but soft boiled with toast and sunny side up with fried breakfast.

Absolutely looooove eggs. I've been eating duck eggs the last few yrs. Hands down I love me an omelette and shakshuka

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004Administrator in reply to Imaaan

That sounds like a good way to have eggs, Imaaan . Do duck eggs taste differently in omelettes than other eggs? I've never had a duck egg. :-)

Imaaan profile image
Imaaan in reply to Activity2004

They taste similar to regular eggs from chickens.

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004Administrator in reply to Imaaan

Thank you! Will have to look into it and see if they are here near where I live. :-)

Simes11 profile image
Simes11 in reply to Activity2004

I have to disagree with Imaaan and say that IMO duck eggs do taste similar to chicken eggs when incorporated into various dishes (although much richer/creamier), but NOT when eaten alone!! Duck eggs have a much more intense flavour.. and a faintly fishy odour and taste! ๐ŸŸ ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

soft boiled with asparagus to dip

That's great. Do you use the soft boiled eggs with asparagus also in other foods mixed together (salad)? :-)

Poached on mashed avocado and chilli flakes on sourdough toast ๐Ÿคค

This sounds very good! Do you have any pictures to share of the toast and eggs together? :-)

Love them soft boiled for breakfast, hard boiled in salads but my favourite is poached on a toasted crumpet

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004Administrator in reply to Maxiemum

Both ways sound really good. I sometimes have eggs added to salads when we have more bags and their expiration date is coming close. :-)

lawli56 profile image

Scrambled or hardboiled. Other is in Egg fried rice and as omelettes - mainly spanish or cheese. Oh and as egg salad sandwiches. I loooooooooooove egg salad sandwiches and often have one for breakfast. And after you got me thinking about eggs I now have to go and boil a couple for a snack. ๐Ÿ˜

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004Administrator in reply to lawli56

Awe! I'm glad to hear that you enjoy egg salad sandwiches. I sometimes have egg salad on a salad or add hard boiled eggs into a salad and use other ingredients to go around everything with the salad/eggs. :-)

Sunny side up! Breakfast, lunch or dinner... Whenever the mood hits!

Activity2004 profile image

That's fantastic! I usually have my eggs for breakfast with Greek yogurt every morning. I usually have hard boiled so I get a high protein and low carb. start to the day with meals and not be hungrier too soon afterwards. :-)

I love them scrambled on toast or poached on smashed avocado on toast

Scrambled is good. I had scrambled eggs a few weeks ago for dinner with a few breakfast-like items. Nice change. :-)

I like mushroom omelettes, too. My mom adds some cheese to the mushrooms and omelette before she closes them. Really good flavors together. :-)

I like my scrambled eggs for dinner. But I prefer a hard boiled egg and poached egg for lunch sometimes for breakfast.I even like a fried egg for my lunch or breakfast with the calorie spray oil.

I love the combination of egg and bread as it keeps me fuller for longer and it is a huge help in losing weight ( I speak from experience).

Another great survey. I love taking part in them. I can't wait for the next survey.

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004Administrator in reply to Lotus-Blossom

Thank you, Lotus-Blossom for saying that about the poll. Eggs are one of my favorite types of breakfast/lunch/dinner foods we have in my house each day. I have hard boiled eggs for breakfast every day and liquid egg whites when I have a quiche once a week. :-)

Lotus-Blossom profile image
Lotus-Blossom in reply to Activity2004

That's quite alright. I really enjoy taking part in your polls.

I try to incorporate an egg a day myself. I also enjoy my eggs as well. But I try to eat stuff that are going to go off soon first. Then I go back to having my egg again for lunch. A perfect lunch.

Thank you for mentioning me. I'm glad you like my response.

We like soft boiled eggs with toast for breakfast but we sometimes have celery sticks or fresh Asparagus with our eggs. We also like poached eggs either in toast or served on top of spinach.

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004Administrator in reply to kitchengardener2

All this sounds good! I've never had celery with eggs before. Will have to see if we can do this in a few weeks..... We don't have celery right now in the house. :-) Great idea! :-)

I used to love eggs, but am now anaphylactic to them. I use Just Egg substitute for โ€œeating โ€œ eggs, and Bobs Red Mills egg replacer for cooking/baking.

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004Administrator in reply to Bluemerlegirl

This is a good idea for substituting real eggs. :-)

They both work great for me! Iโ€™ve tried other brands, but these are the two that, for me, are the closest to the real thing.

Cooper27 profile image
Cooper27Administrator in reply to Bluemerlegirl

How do you find the Just Egg substitute? Is it quite eggy flavoured, or not too bad?

Bluemerlegirl profile image
BluemerlegirlMeal Of The Month in reply to Cooper27

For me, the Just Egg cooks up just like regular scrambled eggs. I add raw spinach to mine while cooking it, and it tastes like a delicious spinach omelette!

I usually eat my eggs as a cheese omelette with salad for lunch. Occasionally I have boiled eggs with cottage cheese and salad. When I have scrambled eggs I have it with fried mushrooms and eat a large bowl full, again usually for lunch. Lunch is my first meal of the day and itโ€™s usually low carb and egg based.

I could eat omelette and salad every day ๐Ÿ˜‹ but I usually mix it up a little and have home made soup or tuna mayonnaise and salad every other day for variety.

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004Administrator in reply to MTCee

I could do that, too (omelette every day)! Have you tried adding hummus instead of mayonnaise for tuna? :-)

I love a 'fried egg sandwich', egg lightly fried in olive oil and I use that oil on the bread, instead of butter or margarine. I also love using roasted vegetables etc in a frittata I make in the frying pan, browned under the grill. That is also fried in olive oil.

I rarely eat eggs these days but when I do, I have 1 boiled and hopefully not solid but itโ€™s often hit and miss even with timing the boiling. OH eats 2 boiled eggs at least once a week so I leave the boiling of them to him.

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004Administrator in reply to Rosepetal60

I eat two hard boiled eggs for breakfast with a Greek yogurt to get a lot of protein so I don't need a snack before lunch each day. They're really good and somewhat fast when I'm in a rush. :-)

I'm vegan so I don't eat eggs, and it's a problem when it comes to making a nice fluffy cake, but I'm so much against the poultry industry and all the horrors associated with it, I could not possibly eat eggs or chicken meet for that matter. One last consideration: eggs are not good for one's health: youtube.com/watch?v=pKgrjQe...

Fried in olive oil with seeded bread

Activity2004 profile image
Activity2004Administrator in reply to Amynah

That sounds good. Have you tried egg in a hole? You get a piece of bread and a cup. Turn the cup upside down and make a hole in the middle of the bread. Put the bread in a pan and add the egg inside the hole the cup created. Cook the egg and let everything melt together. When done, take it out of the pan and enjoy! :-)
