I love the combination of flavours and textures of cucumber slices with peanut butter.

I like a few of the above and really like dried apricots and I really like dates.

Hi Hidden ,

This is a great poll and idea. :-)

I picked: Apples/Pears/Grapes/Citrus Fruit , Nuts , Hummus , Other/None of the above: Please say in comments because I eat lots of apples/grapes and some pears when I can get them for a snack. I also have nuts either on their own or mixed in with other food as a parfait. I have hummus with crackers or vegetables. The Other is either a protein snack bar or Parmesan Crisps. :-)

Quite a few of the above, plus mangoes and blueberries

I'm totally off hummus and falafel right now. Other is tomatoes (grape/baby plum), carrots, sugarsnap peas, plums and cubes of hard goats cheese. Also blueberries/raspberries and grapes have to be black seedless.

I don’t snack cause my food is spread out during the day. I don’t eat three meals, but one big one, I guess. But some of my food could be viewed as snacks. Raw veggies, boiled eggs, berries, nuts.

Great survey, thank you.

I don't snack as try to ensure I've had enough to eat with my meals. I know, that does sound rather pompous, sorry. Ho.

If anything I'll have a cafetera coffee, but usually only 3 max during day. Otherwise tummy suffers,

Mind you, if I had my way I would eat every fresh doughnut in sight - baker's by vets are to die for &........ freeze beautifully.

Luckily don't go to vet that often and will determinedly avert my eyes & steps back to the car with dogs behaving like hooligans - good distraction trying to stay upright with my 'trained' Labradoodle whistling about , & the Norfolk joyously tinkling on anything within his radar, whoopee. L

I don’t plan to snack, it suits me better to have three meals. A snack for me is a back up plan for if my meal is delayed (usually because of work) and I’m getting really hungry as I get headachy, irritable, and can’t concentrate. Nuts are very good for this as they are portable and don’t need to be kept cold.

My husband's country of Guyana has all sorts of snack treats which I love. Plantain chips, phulorie (little balls of happiness made from split pea flour and served with a tangy dip called mango sour), for example, and my all time favourite which is a dish of fried channa (chickpeas) and which is just cooked chickpeas with spicy seasoning which must include geera or jeera (cumin) to give the dish its distinctive scent and flavour. It's not the least calorific snack you ever had, but is high in protein and a lot healthier and more filling than a bag of crisps. Here's one version if anyone would like to try it:

INGREDIENTS

8oz dried chickpeas (soaked overnight)

½ tbsp cooking oil

1 medium onion, sliced

6 large garlic cloves, minced

1 small scotch bonnet (or a chilli pepper)

1 ½ tsp roasted ground jeera (cumin)

½ tsp paprika

¼ tsp black pepper

1 tsp salt (adjust to your taste)

3 stems scallions, finely sliced

IF USING CANNED CHICKPEAS

Use two 15.5oz cans for this recipe

INSTRUCTIONS

Bring a medium pot of water up to a boil. Add soaked chickpeas. Boil until soft about 30-40 minutes. Alternatively, use an instant pot or pressure cooker to cook soaked peas for about 15 minutes. After peas are cooked until tender, drain and set aside.

On medium-high heat, add oil to the skillet. Add onions, garlic, and pepper. Fry 2-3 minutes until tender.

Add chickpeas and fry for a few additional minutes.

Add jeera, paprika, black pepper, salt, and scallions. Fry a few more minutes.

Adjust seasonings to your taste.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANNED CHICKPEAS

Drain and rinse brine from chickpeas. Set aside. Follow instructions from step 2. Add less salt since canned chickpeas are saltier than dried peas.

When cooked, just pop them in a bowl and snack away!

Hi Sue crispy chick peas as a snack sounds really appealing. I’ve fried them and had them with soup instead of croutons but haven’t had them like this and think I must so thanks fir listing this. 👍😊

We’ve done favourite comfort food Hidden snd I expect we’ll do another.

I love raw baby sweetcorn and also blueberries and organic peanut butter and ryvita chai seed protein crisp bread crackers, hardly any calories

Bananas and nuts, although they might not be that healthy, they are either dry roasted, honey roasted or salted 🤣🤣

All of the above are fine. No snacks whatsoever - eating at 2.00 pm and 7.00 pm - that's it!

Generally bananas feature on my breakfast as well as yogurt. Sometimes there is an apple that I add along with the banana and yogurt for breakfast. Porridge with bananas and honey is a tasty change.

Walnuts, black grapes, . Other = a few organic raisins / sultanas. I have also ticked Bananas/ Apples and Pears, but they are mainly for deserts. I’m soon to run out of Chilean Walnuts which have been of good quality. So need to see what others are available for the online order or beyond.

I don't snack in the day but after our evening meal we tend to have a sweet treet, some good quality chocolate, a bit of homemade cake or a chunk of cheese with an apple or pear.

I voted for Bananas, Apples, Grapes, nuts and a boiled egg although I don't view eggs as a snack I see it as a part of my breakfast, lunch or dinner.Fruit and plain onken yoghurt and nuts are my favorites.

Another great survey.

Don't snack, we give our digestive system a rest between three good meals.
