Don't eat meat at all.

I’m a vegetarian Hidden but we try to make the polls cover all aspects of healthy eating for all us, 😊

Yes! Rightly so! 😊

Meat ?! no thanks I'm vegan, meat is very harmful, for people's health (colon cancer) and for the environment, not to mention the animals !

I don't think this ill-informed judgement is in the spirit of this group

🤔..Except it’s not an ‘ill-informed judgement’ is it? Each of Ink45’s statements are research/fact-based and therefore an informed and educated opinion. 🤓 Surely, sharing intelligent (& correct) information IS indeed exactly ‘the spirit of this group’…? 🤗

I ticked the four most popular but really don't eat much of any of them, I don't think eating meat every day agrees with me. I get given meat by my stockman sometimes, the odd bag of 50 dressed pheasants and today a 3kg piece of top rib of beef. One for Christmas I think.

Beef is an ALL STAR in my life. Chicken takes second place in my heart and lamb is my occassional special treat.

I haven't eaten meat for more than 58 years. The thought of it turns my stomach.

I have been Vegetarian since 1981, when the world-renowned Lupus specialist, Prof. Graham Hughes (who gives his name to 'Hughes Syndrome'/Antiphospholipid Syndrome) suggested to me, that there was evidence that avoidance of animal fats in diet might lessen pain, inflammation in inflammatory conditions e.g. Lupus.

My go to meats are goat, lamb and mutton, these animals are almost exclusively grass fed so have a much better Omega 3 profile than all the corn/grain fed animals. I do like all the others though....

Venison when available

Stopped eating meat trying Wfpb 😊

I would eat more meat if it wasn't so expensive. You asked what meat we 'like' most, lamb and beef is way out of my price range hence I usually have the chicken/turkey/bacon choices. I would like to be able to buy lamb and beef! I do hold concerns about how what I do eat is produced. I have had duck in restaurants but I've no idea how to cook one. Maybe I should educate myself!

Hi Hidden ,

Great poll! :-)

I picked chicken, beef and turkey since those are some of the types of meat I like/eat more of. My Other/not as much is Bison/Moose meat.

I like all meat but I have my preference

I eat all types of meat, but lamb is my favourite

Sadly I do eat bratwurst. Kind of a sports related party thing we have in U.S.

I've clicked them all but I like them in moderation. I don't like large portions of meat so fill my plate with mainly veg.

The question was 'like most', which may be different from eat mostly due to health reasons. I like beef, but just have it a few times a year on special occasions. Mostly we eat skinless poultry, fish and tofu.

These are my favourites, I do enjoy beef and pork but not often. X

Venison, pheasant, mutton

I love French saucisson sec, but it has a lot of fat it in, but I usually have to get salami instead as it is difficult to find the French stuff at a reasonable price in the UK.

I love all types of meat, not processed.

If it's up to me we would not eat meat at all 😜. My husband and my 2 sons just cannot do without it. I even sneaked soya in-between the cut chicken 🐔 and they found it. I had to eat it. So no chance 😕 with my boys to go meat free.

Duck but I only ever have it as a treat. All roasts are enjoyable but are absolutely amazing when cooked by your Mum. Nothing beats your own mums roast in my opinion.

I love boneless chicken. Also enjoy lamb. Lots of vegetarians around it seems on HE. My favourite meat seems like a lot of members favourite 😊

I've ticked the main ones: chicken, beef, pork and bacon, but I don't think I have a favourite.

Chicken is most versatile so probably the one I eat most. I'm not a fan of steak, but I like beef in stir fry or stew :)

I'm vegetarian now but I mainly ate chicken, turkey and pork before I stopped eating meat and fish. Probably 3 times a week. I ate a lot of the vegetarian meals I still eat now and fish maybe twice a week so giving up meat entirely was no real hardship for me. I was pescatarian for a while before I finally stopped eating fish too. I've always loved vegetarian Indian food and tofu/vegetable stir-fries. I really don't miss it at all and I feel better physically not eating it.

Excellent poll Jerry, it’s provoked some interesting reactions. I had a long spell as a veggie when younger and felt obliged to justify my choices more than once. Now meat eating seems to be teetering on the edge of something similar in some areas. I gave up on the pure veggie route fairly shortly after moving to the deep sticks, one look at the menu in the pub suggested I would starve.

in reply tojpipw

Thanks jpipw I've also found the responses very interesting and I don't think that we should have to justify our choices especially of they work for us. 👍

Chicken , pork as in sausages, a fillet steak twice a year/ stroganoff. Lamb once a year at most. Bacon 2 or 3 times a month. Ham occasionally I cut out a lot of meat ( mince) about 5 years ago for health reasons and recently cut down on bacon for same reasons. Great poll Jerry, certainly makes one think about how times have changed in our household

in reply toRosepetal60

Hey thanks Rosepetal60 I think this shows how many of us have changed our diets and yours sound perfect for you as they are well thought out and in moderation. 😊

The meat I like the most is Chicken, Turkey and Fish. I haven't touched red meat and processed food for many years due to its massive link to bowel cancer, I do not miss it at all.

Love the survey you really got me talking.
