I drink a lavender based bedtime drink too- and turmeric based ones.

Where do you buy lavender tea from?

loobyloo222 profile image
loobyloo222 in reply to Veeee

It isn't Lavender as such but the Pukka brand night time organic blend of oat flower lavender and lime flower. Not the cheapest but it works for me!

We have lavender in the garden. I know many people who have it in the garden. Can find it in parks, too.

Green tea would be your β€˜other’.

Activity2004Administrator in reply to Matt2584

Yes, Green Tea is under Other since we only have 8 slots to put different choices for each poll when we create them. :-) Thanks, Matt2584 for the help with the explanation! :-)

Tudee

None, tried green tea, made me nauseous.

Matt2584 profile image
Matt2584 in reply to Tudee

But not all herbal teas taste like green tea.

Ginger tea on it’s own is nice and echinacea tea on it’s own is nice but together they taste really nice.

Tudee profile image
Tudee in reply to Matt2584

Thanks Matt, but if it doesn’t involve milk and Stevia and have Tetley on the box I will have to pass, it all looks like urine specimens to me. ... not tempted, I’m a total pleb, apologies. Dee

Urine species haha :).

I can see what you mean by that.

You have now put me off drinking ginger tea :)... joking.

Chia tea!

You mean chai don’t you?

I like chai tea and chai lattΓ©s :).

PandQs profile image

Yes I should think so - those chia teas get stuck between your teeth and swell up like frogspawn :)

Dietwoman in reply to Matt2584

I do lol πŸ˜‚

I like chia seeds too lol

Matt2584 profile image
Matt2584 in reply to Dietwoman

Me too.

I once read that chia seeds were used as a form of currency years ago and Roman athletes used to eat chia seeds all the time.

Whether this bit of info is true or not I don’t know.

Almost everyday I drink a combo of echinacea and ginger.

Pukka is my favourite brand for herbal teas.

According to a chinese therapist my brother knows, a ginger/echinacea combo is really good for boosting the immune system and fighting sickness.

My β€˜other’ is mullein leaf tea.

Mullein is brilliant and is very very good for clearing the airways when you are congested/bronchitis/chest infection.

My mum used to work with someone who had bronchitis once and this lady had been taking many trips to the doctor.

The doc prescribed her with this and that and nothing seemed to work.

She went into work one day and was talking to my mum about it and my mum gave her a few mullein teabags.

When this lady next saw my mum she said the mullein teabags were brilliant and really cleared her airways. She was struggling to breathe but not any more :).

19sunflower profile image
19sunflower in reply to Matt2584

Hi Matt, you're going to have to excuse my ignorance but what is mullein? I honestly feel a bit daft for asking but it sounds really interesting and right now in my household 3 out of the 4 hubby and sons I share my space with could do with a bucket load of anything to soothe their hacking coughs!!! Sick bay centralπŸ™„πŸ€ž( that's me crossing my fingers I don't land what they've all got!!)

Matt2584 profile image
Matt2584 in reply to 19sunflower

Mullein is a plant and it is the mullein leaf that is best for is. Apparently the mullein flower is not so good for is.

But there is a website called buddha teas that sell mullein leaf infusion teabags but I believe they are out of stock at the moment. I think they are either hard to get gold of or it is a popular teabag with others?

I am awaiting an email from the company when they are back in stock because I want’s to buy some :).

But Amazon sell various brands of mullein. You can get mullein loose leaf tea, not sure what this is like though.

I’m not really a massive fan of loose-leaf teas.

Sorry to hear of your family though and hopefully the mullein does good for you all too :).

I drink camomile and ginger and lemon tea with honey. Always drink camomile after dinner, it's a great way to ease bloated tummies and perfect for digestion! :) <3 I also love a good cup of English tea too in the mornings! :)

I drink ginger tea occasionally, I find most of them a bit insipid, probably because I usually drink strong black coffee.

Liquorice and peppermint, but not good for people with high BP because of the liquorice.

A very good poll.

I've picked Ginger it's a 3 ginger tea I have), Peppermint (although not strictly peppermint it's buttermint) I have and the other one is a Stomach Ease tea which really does help if you want to settle a tummy but it's also lovely to drink even if your tummy is fine.

Alicia

Thanks for the poll. Other: any really, I tried so many different ones, could not list them all. Hardly any herbal brew I don’t like.

Worth adding that it is also nice to cook with tea (in place of water), for extra flavor.

Other is: a sleep blend containing valerian to help me relax before bed and a morning wakeup blend plus green tea, fruit and herb blends, Also fennel for flatulence occasionally. I just recently started using a Cpap machine for Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Syndrome (OSAS) so I'm sleeping better, staying more alert during the day and have a bit more energy so may soon be able to drop the first two to occasional use. I'm also caffeine free for coffee and tea except for 1 cup of coffee in the morning when I get up.

It has a delicate flavour, nothing like green tea, I supose its a bit like jasmine tea..

I've never been able to find it anywhere other than this particular shop, but have been drinking it for years.
