I'm pre-diabetic and fighting it! I tend not te eat before I run, I used to (a banana) but find I'm more comfortable if I dont.
Do you test yourself before you go out to run/exercise?

Hey this is a great poll Leah as we have many diabetic members and I voted other as I am not diabetic.
I eat well and have plenty of exercise so my weight is stable with a BMI of 20 to 20.5.
Everything that we can do to prevent and help reverse type 2D the better.
I also believe that reducing salt intake is important to diabetics in winter.

Jerry I don't understand salt intake, my GP found my blood salt level is abnormally low but I eat an awful lot of sea salt, GP said eat even more which I find confusing ? I'd be interested to know if anyone else has this problem, a low blood salt level is quite dangerous I am told.
What is your blood pressure at the doctor's office? Do you have a blood pressure monitor at home to do checks?
Hi Activity, my doctor says blood pressure is normal but when I take it at home on my blood pressure monitor I think it is high at 148/79? So it's odd that my blood saline level is way below normal, and my doctor suggested eating more salt on my food and drinking a bit less water.
Maybe I should get my kidneys checked but GFR in that blood test was normal ?
I personally take blood pressure medication because it's been high for many years. Are you having any kidney issues? I was put on blood pressure medication because I had protein spilling into the urine when I was a teenager. With the medication, that has helped.
It's encouraging that the meds have helped you, and yes I remember my doctor finding protein in my urine too but she did not say why it was there. I will see my doctor again and ask about this.
My dear late husband had a wonderful American device for his very high blood pressure, without pills it lowered his blood pressure from 180/82 to normal !!.. In a few weeks. The device is called 'RESPERATE' made in US by InterCure Ltd. It was prescribed free on the NHS by his GP here in UK in 2012.
I still have this Resperate device and will give it a try on myself, hopefully lower my BP, it works by breathing sessions lasting about 20 mins with headphones to guide you through, very relaxing, have you seen this being used over there in US Activity?

yes
I eat 2 hard boiled eggs and a Greek yogurt for breakfast when I'm home. The low carb-high protein diet helps keep the blood sugar even for me and I don't get hungry until about 12 noon or 1 pm each day. What do you have for snacks/meals?
bacon eggs for breakfast , salad (carrot courgette beetroot radish rocket , raw cabbage tinned fish / avocado nuts / cheese and fruit lunch time then lashings of atleast 2 green veg and grille fish or chicken with other veg . plateful
coffee with milk during day and litre of chilled water from fridge
