I would definitely find it hardest to give up chocolate. I LOVE chocolate so much - I have 25g of dark chocolate every day, and I wouldn't want to give it up. I think it is a healthy part of my daily food intake. :-)

Dark chocolate is definitely healthy and no need to give up. :) The food I would fine hard is dairy, love my milky coffees and cheese.

:)

It was a hard decision for me, dairy and eggs are so much part of my daily life, followed by meat. Most of the other things on your list are not part of my normal diet anyway so they would be no loss!

in reply to ClareCrip

Me too, eggs a close first and dairy (cheese) second 😊

Dairy because I wouldn't be able to enjoy a cup of tea without fresh milk and however nice food is tea comes first! Close second would be eggs.

I’m the other way round eggs first and dairy second 😊

Me too. I love my tea in the morning and afternoon. I can do without all the rest but not tea with a splash of milk

Tea wasn't on the list but that would be first for me too, so I voted dairy which would be really hard to do without. I always remember my mum saying 'if tea was illegal I'd be in prison' and thinking how could you like tea that much!

Bread, no chance. I stopped eating white though

Not chocolate. I love it but it’s hardy part of an everyday diet, so really basic wheat. Bread is hard to do without as when you’re hungry nothing satisfies like carbs.

I'd disagree. I follow low carb and healthy fat eating plan. Once you get used to it you don't miss carbs. In fact if I eat some i am hungry. If I don't eat them i am not hungry

I’m with you xx

There appears to be sugar in most c onvenience foods . It's easy to say don't use them but it's a bad habit to give up ( I have before but eventually I slip. Back )

For me right now is feta cheese. I’m obsessed! I eat half a pack almost everyday.

I love chocolate but I could make do with strawberry cheese cake yogurt or key lime pie yogurt, slightly frozen. I do eat dark chocolate once or twice a week sometimes.

Cheese. Np question

My 8 year old and I have given chocolate up for January. We are so desperate for chocolate we are counting the days until February.

I did that once for Lent and a friend of mine did it for a whole year!!!! When I went back to chocolate, I found it really sweet, sweeter than I remembered.

I haven’t eaten any choc, cake and sweets since July 2017. It’s been very hard, but to date I have lost 2st.4lb. Along with potion control. I will eat these items again, but only when I know I can control how much in one portion to eat.

I have given up most things in my life, nearly all the things on the list, but dairy for me would be too much...I love a good cup of tea 🍵

I have given up butter and chocolate in the past for a month but Dairy milk would be difficult because I find a hot milky cocoa can sometimes be helpful for getting to sleep and I like the taste of the cocoa. I have substituted the sugar for honey and I'm cutting the honey down gradually. only half a teaspoon at present.

Soft Goats cheese would be difficult to give up as well.

Of the choice available I chose dairy as the "hardest" but it would not be truly difficult for such a small space of time. I find little pleasure in food these days and am now definitely eating to live rather than living to eat.

Since I discovered raw cacao and how to make healthy snacks with it I’ve never looked back and don’t even miss “chocolate” any more!!

Hi Ruthiepegs, I was curious about the Raw Cacao you mentioned and looked it up. And I'm thinking I may try it as according to one website it has a stronger flavour than cocoa because it hasn't been roasted. I've been putting in 2 heaped tsp of organic cocoa in recently instead of usual 1 to make my cocoa milky drink as 1 didn't seem enough. I will put the raw Cacao on my shopping list. Thank you for the tip.

Eggs for me

I can't/don't eat most of the things on the list anyway 😉 Because I eat low carb and have to be gluten free. I occasionally eat dark chocolate because it's yummy and healthy. I eat more fish than meat and while I eat a lot of eggs, I could easily go without them it I had to. But dairy is another thing. I eat lots of bio yogurts and cheeses and enjoy milky drinks, so that would be the hardest for me to give up I think.
