Get out of the supermarkets and shop in independent shops as much as possible. You will save a lot. Make a menu plan before making shopping list. Shop with a full stomach after eating a meal and you will buy less. Don't be fooled by the offers - work out the unit price of items - supermarkets are brilliant at marketing, the clue is in the name, and 'value added' refers to their shareholders - not you or the product.

I would suggest a roast on Sunday then use the leftovers for a decent meal on Monday and possibly sandwiches depending on size of roast and family size. You could even use the bones for soup stock. I'm trying to do that more.

Plan your meals, write shopping list and only buy what you need. I also cook most of my meals from scratch - that way I know exactly whats gone into them - so they are better for me too!

The Sunday roast becomes a soup for lunch during the week.

Beans and pulses are cheaper than meat and have less fat and more fibre.

Go shopping if you can in.the UK.at ASDA SHOPS THEY HAVE SOME CUT PRICE KN ALL FOOD AFTER 4 /PMNITS CALLED WHOOPS REAL GOOD I SPOTTED SOME ORIENTAL FOLKS FILLING UP THEIR CARTS IT WAS FOR THEIR RESTAURANT FOR US CUSTOMERS! THATS A DOUBLE BARGAIN!! AND HOW,S YOUR WEEK 👀👀

Cutting down on waste must be one key to cutting costs. There is little to no waste in a whole-food plant-based diet. For example I have just cooked a cauliflower and almost all of it used. The stem was cooked and blended went into a cheesy sauce based around nutritional yeast, the leaves were steamed and the main mass was turned into "cauli rice" in the blender. The entire thing then baked.

I don't think you have to try to hard to save money sometimes it's even better to start with a small investment. For example I bought this book:tinyurl.com/ybzjpju9 it worked so well, the tea tastes great and after only a few cups i felt great. It was like if my body was renewed. So I'm eating now a little less than before and a few healthier things. I think saving money isn't always the best opportunity to success.
