A few too many sleepless nights and I realised I had to give up coffee. I set a schedule, reduce it by a quarter cup every two days and make sure not to replace it with fizzy drinks or tea. One week in I felt great but by the end of the week I felt snoozy as anything, the next week similar, feeling good then feeling fatigued in the middle of the day, but maybe a different fatigue from my normal bad head fatigue, more snoozy. Then week three and I felt good again and I've kept feeling good. Oh so good. I could do with a nice cortado mind you.

Coffee
I had to give up coffee after developing an arrhythmia issue last year but then discovered that 'Gold Blend' decaffeinated is quite tasty for an instant coffee. Not the same hit as fresh or caffeinated, but a fair compromise if you're fearing relapse !
Good luck with the willpower Jonathan ; hope all's well and the lens issue is a concern of the past..... Cat x
I switched to Kenco Decaf a few years ago and I've never looked back. It's a really tasty coffee and now I just drink as much as I like. I sleep better, I definitely have far fewer headaches and just generally feel better for it.
Hey Escocia, I've had pain in my head On and off for 19 years but permanent for the last 7 years, it's constant 24 hours a day 7 days a week, turned out it was a brain tumour and although the chemo I'm doing is finally easing the pain i still I haven't been able to drink caffeinated coffee for over 7 years. I drink union decaf which is 99.9% caffeine free and it taste delicious - it's also cleaned with water not with chemicals to make it decaffeinated so it's very healthy 👌🏻As cat3 said It's not the same as freshly caffeinated but it smells and tastes the same so I still get a placebo buzz knowing I can drink coffee even though it's decaf!
