Hi Stace,

Signed and have shared the petition on facebook too.

It is so unfair how people are being rejected their benefits.

I am one of those people.

If I could go back in time to the assessment I would have wanted to add more things.

Like with my hearing, my mum said I can struggle with my hearing. The assessor looked blankly at her and said “Well he can hear me alright”.

What I should have added was “Yes, I can hear you just fine at the moment but that is because the meeting consists of me, my mum and you in a pretty small room and you are ex army and have a loud voice. Now if the assessment took place in a pub for instance or even in a night club where it was rowdy and a lot of noise then I would not be able to hear a thing”.

The final decision said that the assessor saw me walk.

Well no, the assessor did not see me walk.

When the assessor arrived at my house, I was in another room at the time. I had walked out of the door and to my seat with my walking stick which was only a few paces. This was not what you call “walking”.

Because the assessor was so abrupt and rude, this is why I didn’t say the things I wanted to say.

I was wearing my Headway card at the meeting as well. I wanted to talk about the card earlier in the meeting really. Anyhow, at the end of the meeting, he asked me what the card was around my neck. At that point I got a little excited and I explained about the card and I told him I wear it when I go out on my own as it gives me added confidence.

He didn’t exactly react how I thought he would, he basically mocked it and said “Oh I thought you were wearing the card to look important like me”!

The way I see it, that was a big mistake for him to go and say that. I hope he gets in a lot of trouble for that.

He could have said something like “That’s a good idea” instead of mocking it.

People like that assessor are what I call ‘pure bell ends’ and I hope something bad happens to them.

That’s absolutely disgusting behaviour . I think the majority of these assessors just want to make a fool of you or really take the p***s. . 😞🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I think so Shona.

My dad was saying that these assessors must get a bonus for purposely rejecting claimants. Hecould be right about that.
