Below is my pathology report. I meet with a gyno-oncologist on Friday. I was hoping someone might have a similar diagnosis that could offer some understanding;
Thank you!
DIAGNOSIS:
VULVAR LESION, BIOPSY:
FOCAL MODERATE SQUAMOUS DYSPLASIA, VIN2 (HGSIL), ARISING FROM CONDYLOMA .
BIOPSY MARGINS: POSITIVE FOR DYSPLASIA.
SEE COMMENT.
The biopsy shows architectural condyloma with HPV effects. There is focal
active mitosis, and Mib-1 shows some of nuclear staining above one third of
basal. Immunostain for P16 shows focally but strong positive staining in nuclear
and cytoplasm.
This is moderate dysplasia, VIN2 (HGSIL).
The case is reviewed at the intradepartmental conference, and also consulted by
Dr. Srini Mandavilli, at Hartford Hospital; the above diagnos
is is a consensus.

Thank you for your message and we hope you're not having too much of a worrying time with this. So without overcomplicatng this, your report means that you have medium/stage 2 of 3 cell changes in your vulva. Mild/VIN1 often go away on their own, VIN2 sometimes needs treatment and VIN3 is always treated as this is the stage before a vulval cancer. Your team will make an individual decision for you, as to whether your VIN2 would need removing in their opinion.
i would agree with the above reply... stage 2 may just be monitored at this point, stage 3 would usually be treated surgically (minor!). I have had stage 3 a couple of times now and whilst it's a bit of a worry and far from pleasant to have surgery there, once you're in the system they will continue to monitor you closely. this changes tend to be slow developing and even stage 3 does not mean it will go on to develop into cancer.
please be assured you will be closely monitored and well cared for!
