weak urine flow

does anyone else suffer with frequent urinating and weak flow?

I have been worse these past two weeks with a lot of fatigue. The fatigue is brain fatigue no motivation and cognitive tasks seem burdensome . I’m retired !

i feel like I have rolled back the clocks a couple of years when I was worse 🙃

Hello Celticfiddler :

If on an Anti Thyroid drug such as Carbimazole - maybe it needs adjusting down ?

Do you have regular blood tests for Free T3 and Free T4 - if you care to share your most current results and ranges we can advise.

Also when metabolism is running too fast as in hyper or too slow as in hypo - the body struggles to extract key nutrients through food - no matter how well and clean one eats -

and if ferritin, folate, B 12 and vitamin D are not maintained at optimal levels this can compound your ill health, further than necessarily -

and again we can advise on these core strength essentials if you care to share your blood test results.

Thank you pennyannie I will be requesting a blood test early sept. I had just been thinking since my post that I could have dropped T4 I am no longer on Carbimazole as I had ablation in January nice to hear back from you with your pointers

Oh, well yes - RAI is known to trash vitamins and minerals so you need to keep on top of these core strength vitamins and minerals as no thyroid hormone replacement works well until these are up and maintained at optimal levels anyway.

Probably best if you continue any questions - on the Thyroid Uk forum -

I too had RAI thyroid ablation but way back in 2005 - details on my Profile page if interested - just press the icon alongside my name in this reply.

If you get lost reading around - just press your Profile which sits alongside My Hub - Chat- Post Alert icons - which on my laptop are position top right facing me -

It is essential that you are dosed and monitored on your Free T3 and Free T4 results and ranges and not a TSH result :

Your HPT axis - the Hypothalamus - Pituitary - Thyroid - feedback loop -

on which the TSH relies on as working - is now not a reliable measure of anything -

as by having had RAI your thyroid has been burnt out is situ and your own natural ' power supply ' destroyed - and this circuit loop is now open ended as there is no thyroid in situ to respond or complete this feedback loop.

The most well rounded of all I researched starting back in around 2015 is that of Elaine Moore - books and website - elaine-moore.com

Thanks pennyannie for your reply very kind and appreciated. I only had 70 percent of toxic nodul ablated far preferable to removal . Will read your journey . Food for thought about depletion.

A fully functioning working thyroid would be supporting you on a daily basis with trace elements of T1. T2 and calcitonin + a measure of T3 at around 10 mcg + a measure of T4 at around 100 mcg - with T3 said to be around 4 times more powerful than T4.

T4 - Levothyroxine is a pro-hormone and needs to be converted in your body into T3 the active hormone that runs the body - much like fuel runs a car and the thyroid is like the gear box adjusting the T3/T4 levels as to the body's requires and is responsible for the full body synchronisation from your physical through to your mental, emotional, psychological and spiritual well being, your inner central heating system and your metabolism.

We generally feel best when our T4 is up in the top quadrant of its range at around 80% with and T3 tracking just behind at around 60/70% through its range.

As already detailed no thyroid hormone works well until the core strength vitamins and minerals are maintained at optimal level - and conversion of T4 into T3 can also be down regulated by inflammation, antibodies, any physiological stress ( emotional or physical ) depression, dieting and ageing.
