I have eye issues very similar - although no confirmation of TED.

I found optician very helpful.  I’m in uk & opticians have more equipment & expertise to access eye problem than GP.

They can advise on dry eye drop, & mine wrote a letter which I took to GP to put in place a referral to a specialist.

If the eye condition is severe then you would need an ophthalmologist specialist surgeon & an optician won’t be able to do this but might be able to send you on right path.

Bulging / feeling of pressure & affecting your vision doesn’t sound mild.  Do you have a doctor who can refer you on a more urgent basis.

Hello again Tanya ;

I've no knowledge of how things work in South Africa but your eye sight needs emergency medical attention and Graves Disease needs a specialist eye consultant who will work alongside the endocrinologist and try and monitor and adjust the anti thyroid medication to reduce the impact on your eyes.

Are you still itchy - there is an alternative to Carbimazole - called Propylthiouracil - PTU for short that might suit you better.

Have you always been in South Africa when you started posting on here, as many replies you had presumed you were in the UK - and I'm sure it's become quite confusing as there are bound to differences in how Graves is treated between these countries.

Ok then - I think you need a hospital appointment now - for both your eyes and thyroid health issues, unless you know of an optician who is very knowledgeable with Graves Disease and Graves Ophthalmology
