Propranolol + Carbimazole + Gravesv. Gym?

Hi guys

As per my last series of posts, I have been diagnosed with graves hyperthyroidism.

I am talking both the Carbimazole and the propranolol (for about 2 weeks) and wondered if/when I may be able to workout/exercise, based on other people's experiences and opinions?

My doctor didn't strongly advise one way or another, so thought I'd open it the floor.

Thanks as always!

Hi. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I think it all depends on how severe your Graves numbers are with regards gyming. If the dr is not either way then maybe the numbers are not so high, I am a gymer and slowly lost mass from early this year until August. No gym since August. My numbers are high. Questions are have you been lifting less over time and r your numbers highly elevated.

My numbers are super elevated and yes, the weight I can lift has dramatically decreased..

Ok. This makes sense. My endocrinologist said i will get a base of muscle back as I have lost a lot of mass. Anything more than a base is 6 months away because the body has to recover from the elevated numbers. I went undiagnosed for 9 months. So it will also depend on how long you were highly elevated as well as how highly elevated you were/are. It is super depressing but it’s not forever but it is for now

That's a great response, thanks. I'll give it a bit then x
