I thought it might be useful to share some handy books that I have found useful on the Coeliac Journey or that our Facebook fans have recommended. From great gluten free recipes to handy health books I hope this becomes a useful resource whether you are newbie Coeliac, parent or established GF Guru.

ONE TO READ:
How To Cook for Food Allergies
Understand Ingredients, Adapt Recipes with Confidence and Cook for an Exciting Allergy-Free Diet
by Lucinda Bruce-Gardyne (circa £5.99 on Amazon)
WHY READ IT?
What I love is the handy way it lists set allergies and the alternative ingredients within the recipes. So if you're planning a meal for a family that includes people with a range for allergies it takes the headache out of interpreting the recipes and recommends substitutions e.g. ref gf flours. It's written by Lucinda Bruce-Gardyne of 'Genius Bread' fame! The recipes are probably most suited for adult meals. Overall I'd recommend it as a great staple read for anyone new to gluten free cooking or any of your friends and relatives so they can easily adapt meals for your requirements.
As libraries in the UK are going through a tough time with all the financial cut backs at the moment I'd recommend seeking out yours and seeing if you can get hold of a copy there in the first instance. Alternatively I've included the link to it on Amazon below where you can read other reviews. I picked up my copy very cheaply in lovely bargin book store so keep your eyes peeled. You never know what great finds you will spot in the food section. As awareness of Coeliac Disease becomes greater I'm sure there'll be greater choice and variety over the next few years.
